Five Things You Should Have in Your Home Right Now.

First thing every home should have a family health guide or medical guide of some kind. Why? It can

help you to determine whether you need to go to the doctor, the ER or just stay home and wait it out. I have three that have been given to me from schools my kids went to. You can get them fairly cheep at a thrift store for like a buck or two. Its great for new or inexperienced parents.

Second should be a field guide for edible plants. You should always know what type of plants are in you area and if they can be eaten. Use it to teach your children the difference between good plants and poison ones. And in a crisis you know what you can eat to stay alive. You can get them at thrift stores or used book stores.

Third should be a really good home remedy book or even a small pocket one. This will tell you good things around the home that can help you get though a tough time. Simple things that can be used for

coughs, colds, fevers, upset bellies, insect bites and so many more things that can be taken care of with

out rushing to a doctor or in a crisis. And if you have a really good spice rack you have medicine. And again you can get at a thrift store or used book store for those who are on a budget.

Fourth you should have a big herb book . I say big because the bigger the more the information. This

book should have a large verity of herbs, where they grow, what time of year they grow, when to

harvest, What parts to use and what its use for. This book should also tell you the different ways to

make natural medicine. You can find them in thrift stores used book store but for a book like this you can spend a good bit on and not be disappointed.

Your fifth item in this list should be a family emergency plan book. This may not be a book you can buy any where that meets your family's needs. This book you will have to make on your own or with your family's help. In a crisis you might get scatter brained and not know what to do, where to go, who to call.Think of this as your (what to do if all hell breaks lose) book. Write things in it that you want your family

to know or do if you aren't there with them. Write things in it that you might need to know in a crisis.

Make this book an important part of your family preparedness. You should have phone numbers,

addresses, food inventory, any thing that might help you and your family be better prepared. Load it

up with any thing you can think of. And don't put it in a notebook that the pages can just fall out. You can find a hard bound journal that is lined for a good price.
